Having grown up with love an respect for German Shepherd Breed we bought our first German Shepherd over 30 years ago she was bought as a pet and we named her Misty she was the most loyal companion and we loved her dearly until the day she died, we added to our Shepherd Family with a Long Coat Male we called Duke and a Standard Coat Male we called Gus, all 3 dogs brought us so much joy and we gained so much knowledge about the different characters they can have within the breed and the effect of those characters, Misty was such a loving girl and loved everyone, Duke did not like people (other than his family) but did not mind other dogs while Gus loved people and hated other dogs. We were heartbroken when we lost the dogs one by one and were so lost without this outstanding breed in our lives. We bought 2 brothers out of the same litter from a top North East Kennel we named Travis and Tyler, unfortunatley our lives changed and we were unable to keep the dogs so we had to rehome them, we were so very sad to see them go. After a few years without a dog we were once again in a position to offer a loving home and bought a Long Coat Male and called him Karl he was a beautiful male and fitted into our family life completely however due to failing eyesight and ill health he deteriorated very quickly and we had to make the decision to let him go. We struggled to come to terms with his death it hit the whole family hard and we decided then we would not have any more dogs as we suffered so much at losing them, we lasted 5 months and after much research contacted a breeder of super show lines and a super quality standard coat Male we called Kaiser came to live with us. He was of show lines so we attended a few shows and very quickly got the bug for showing, although sadly Kaiser did not make it as a show dog we decided we needed a female to start our own kennel to give us the opportunity to breed the standard of quality we desired in a German Shepherd ourselves.
We bought a beautiful female from the Top Scottish Kennel 'CONBHAIREAN' she was out of their VA1 (UK) female Conbhairean Quella and German VA male Gigolo von der Barenschlucht we called her Bonnie, she was our Foundation Bitch and so the Dahlmann Kennel was born. Bonnie went on to produce 3 litters out of which produced a Kennel Club Champion and a 'Best Puppy in Breed' at CRUFTS.
We are Exhibitors and Breeders of German Shepherd Dogs and in our breeding programme we strive to breed dogs of outstanding temperament and character as well as outstanding conformation to produce a dog that will make the most loving and loyal companion for life.
Thank you so much for taking a interest in our Kennel and dogs and hope you would contact us if you have any requirements or questions.
Best Regards Jim and Helen.
